2026 costs

Every number on this site has a contractor URL.

If two shops in the same metro disagree, we print both. We do not average them into a fake “typical” figure, and we do not borrow Angi-style national guesses.

How to read the spread

A same-amp panel swap is not a 100-to-200-amp service change. A Marin or San Francisco job that waits on PG&E is not a Houston CenterPoint meter pull. Twin Cities contractor pages disagree in public — Three Rivers’ FPE/Zinsco band is $7,700–$9,500; Loch Monster’s general upgrade band is $3,000–$7,000. Both are cited on the Twin Cities page. Averaging them would be invention.

Permit fees, utility tickets, mast replacement, grounding upgrades, and AFCI/GFCI fill-out are the usual reasons two written quotes on the same house diverge. Ask for those lines in writing.

What this is not

It is not a bid, a guarantee, or a 2026 inflation index. Prices move. If a cited page changes, the city file should change with it.
