Federal Pacific panel replacement in Tulsa

A Tulsa insurance letter that names Federal Pacific is a Development Services trade permit plus a PSO meter ticket. The city issues the electrical permit. PSO owns the seal on the meter.

Request quotes from licensed electricians who do insurance-flagged panel replacement

Do you have an insurance letter about this panel?

Photo upload comes later. A picture of the closed door and the inside label is enough if someone asks.

The inspector wrote Federal Pacific on the report. Tulsa still wants a trade permit from a licensed electrician. PSO still wants its own ticket before anyone opens a meter seal.

Development Services issues the trade permit to a licensed electrician only. PSO's Modify Home Service request is how the meter comes off. Those two systems do not match. A helper with a van cannot print that permit or cut PSO's seal.

What PSO actually wrote

Start with the Service Rules. Meters and metering equipment used in measuring the amount of electric service are furnished by and shall remain the property of PSO.

PSO meters, equipment, or enclosures shall be locked or sealed.

Unauthorized removal of the lock or seal is prohibited. When the lock or seal is missing or opened by persons other than PSO employees or authorized agents, you may be charged $50 plus all costs to repair or replace facilities and for PSO to inspect and reseal the meter and equipment.

The Modify Home Service page is the request path. Use it for removal of your existing meter and/or electric service drop. Use it for repositioning the meter. Use it for upgrading electrical service.

The Permit Center issues the electrical trade permit. PSO will not treat a cut seal as ordinary maintenance. Those two systems do not match.

Confirm the logo on the bill. Most Tulsa, Owasso, Broken Arrow, and Bixby addresses are PSO.

PSO does not publish a guaranteed power-off hour count. Half Moon describes most residential panel upgrades as a single day on site. That is a contractor field note.

Permits inside Tulsa and in the nearby towns

Inside the city, start at Development Services, Permit Center, 175 E. 2nd Street, 4th Floor. Electrical files go through the Self-Service Portal, or on paper at the counter. Trade questions go to 918-596-9656.

Who pulls the permit matters. The Applications and Forms page is a closed list. Only a Licensed tradesperson may apply for trade permits. The Plans Review page repeats it. Trade contractors that are licensed by the City and State and registered with Development Services may pull trade permits. There is no owner-occupant electrical-permit path on those pages.

Owasso, Broken Arrow, Bixby, and Jenks file at their own counters. A quote that only says “we handle the permit” should name the city on the address.

Price, without inventing one

Half Moon’s own blogs publish two Tulsa bands and do not hide the spread. A May blog prints electrical panel replacement at $1,500 to $3,500. A February blog prints a complete panel upgrade at $1,300 to $3,000.

Those two systems do not match. We will not average them. We are not inventing a Tulsa midpoint from either post.

Oklahoma license lookup is public. Ask for the CIB number and check it on the Construction Industries Board before you sign. For a city address, also ask for the city registration they will put on the trade-permit file. One shop advertises this work on their own site and prints a license number. Half Moon’s Tulsa panel-upgrades page names Federal Pacific, Zinsco, and Pushmatic and prints Electrical Contractor Lic# 00140295. They write daily work across Tulsa, Owasso, Broken Arrow, Bixby, and Jenks. They are listed for the panel letter, not as a Tulsa County directory.

Directory-only shops are omitted. A page that names these brands and does not print an Oklahoma electrical license number is not a listing. The listed shop is not affiliated with Panel Letter.

What to hand the carrier

The useful packet is the closed city or suburban electrical permit, the passed inspection, an invoice with the license number that was on the permit, and photos if the letter asks. If your electrician produces a load calculation or panel schedule, send that too. We did not find a carrier page that publishes a single statewide sticker form. Ask the agent what they will actually open.

Electricians who advertise this job

A shop is listed only if it advertises Federal Pacific, Zinsco, or insurance-driven panel replacement on its own site and prints a license number there. Trade-association locators already exist. We will not pad this list. Verify the license before you hire.

To get introduced, use the quote form on this page. We do not send you to the shop from here.
