A Warner Robins truck and an Eisenhower Parkway file is how a lot of Macon letters start. The carrier still named Federal Pacific on the panel.
The county inspector will not own the Georgia Power seal. Georgia Power will not print the Suite MB105 electrical permit. Those two systems do not match. A helper with a van cannot stand in for either one.
What the utilities actually wrote
Most Macon, Warner Robins, and Bibb County bills are Georgia Power. Confirm the logo on the bill before anyone prices the job.
Start with the 2023 Blue Book. In areas where electrical inspection is provided, the Public Service Commission requires that all wiring and equipment in or upon the premises of the Customer to the point of the service connection shall have the approval of an inspector from the constituted authority prior to connecting the Customer service to the Company’s system.
Auxiliary gutter covers shall allow Georgia Power to place a lock and meter seal on the cover to prevent unauthorized access to the unmetered service conductors.
The company’s rules and regulations publish a $25.00 meter-tampering charge. The developers portal says to always contact Georgia Power before beginning a project. Call 1-877-365-3276 to reach an engineer. That is not a homeowner meter-pull path.
Georgia Power does not publish a guaranteed power-off hour count. We Care writes that they handle Macon-Bibb permitting on significant jobs. That is a contractor field note.
Permits in Macon-Bibb and in Warner Robins
Inside Macon-Bibb, start at Building and Fire Safety, 3661 Eisenhower Parkway, Suite MB105. Phone is 478-803-0466. Email is buildingpermits@maconbibb.us. Electrical files go through Community Connect.
Who pulls the permit matters. The county says permits are issued solely to the license holder. The contractor account has to be set up by the license holder. Starting work before the permit is issued may result in a Stop Work Order. Applications submitted on or after January 1, 2026 use the new State of Georgia construction codes. The county still publishes a Homeowner Occupant Affidavit. That affidavit is self-perform work. Owning the home does not mean you should pull the permit and then hire someone under your name.
Warner Robins and unincorporated Houston County file at their own counters. A quote that only says “we handle the permit” should name the city or county on the address.
Price, without inventing one
Two Georgia contractor pages publish panel bands and do not hide the split.
Charge’s Georgia page prints most 200-amp upgrades at $1,500 to $4,000. Joyner’s Savannah page prints a light 100-amp to 200-amp service upgrade at $4,800 to $6,200. Those two systems do not match. We will not average them. We are not inventing an Eisenhower Parkway midpoint from either line.
Georgia license lookup is public. Ask for the EN number and check it on the Secretary of State board before you sign. One shop advertises this work on their own site and prints a license number. We Care’s Macon electrical page names Zinsco or Federal Pacific replacements. The shop’s own site prints EN215227. They write daily work from 324 Corder Rd in Warner Robins. They are listed for the panel letter, not as a Bibb County directory.
Directory-only shops are omitted. A page that names these brands and does not print a Georgia electrical contractor number is not a listing. The listed shop is not affiliated with Panel Letter.
What to hand the carrier
The useful packet is the closed Macon-Bibb electrical permit, the passed electrical inspection, an invoice with the EN number that was on the permit, and photos if the letter asks. If your electrician produces a load calculation or panel schedule, send that too. We did not find a carrier page that publishes a single statewide sticker form. Ask the agent what they will actually open.
Typical replacement cost
One Georgia page and one Savannah shop publish panel bands that do not match. We are not inventing an Eisenhower Parkway midpoint from them
$1,500 to $4,000
Most Georgia 200-amp panel upgrades printed on a statewide contractor page
Their Georgia page. The same copy names aging Federal Pacific and Zinsco panels. A Savannah shop prints a light 100-amp to 200-amp service upgrade at $4,800 to $6,200. Those two systems do not match. We will not average them. We are not inventing an Eisenhower Parkway midpoint from either line.
Source: Charge Home Solutions$4,800 to $6,200
Light 100-amp to 200-amp service upgrade printed by a Savannah shop
Their Savannah service-upgrade page. This is not Charge’s $1,500 to $4,000 Georgia 200-amp line. Those two systems do not match. We will not average them. This is a service-upgrade band, not a like-for-like interior panel swap.

Permit
Macon-Bibb County Building and Fire Safety
Who pulls it: Building and Fire Safety sits at 3661 Eisenhower Parkway, Suite MB105, Macon, GA 31206. Phone is 478-803-0466. Email is buildingpermits@maconbibb.us. Electrical files go through Community Connect. The county says permits are issued solely to the license holder. The contractor account has to be set up by the license holder. Starting work before the permit is issued may result in a Stop Work Order and criminal citation. Applications submitted on or after January 1, 2026 use the new State of Georgia construction codes. Warner Robins and unincorporated Houston County are not the Eisenhower Parkway file.
Macon-Bibb still publishes a Homeowner Occupant Affidavit on the applications page. That affidavit is self-perform work. A quote that only says we handle the permit should name Macon-Bibb or Warner Robins on the address. Georgia electrical-contractor advertising is the Secretary of State EN number. Ask for the number they will put on the Macon-Bibb file.
Utility coordination
Georgia Power on most Macon and Warner Robins bills
Who disconnects: Georgia Power’s 2023 Blue Book is blunt before reconnect.
Outage window: Georgia Power does not publish a guaranteed power-off hour count for a residential panel swap.
Confirm the logo on the bill before anyone prices the job. Most Macon, Warner Robins, and Bibb County addresses are Georgia Power. A like-for-like panel swap still needs the county inspection and that Georgia Power disconnect. A service-size change is still the company’s disconnect and reconnect, not a helper cutting the seal. We Care writes that they handle Macon-Bibb permitting on significant jobs. That is a contractor field note.
What to hand the insurer
- Closed Macon-Bibb County electrical permit
- Passed electrical inspection (the approval Georgia Power needs before reconnect)
- Invoice showing the Georgia EN number used on the permit
- Photos of the old and new panel if the carrier’s letter asks for them
- Load calculation or panel schedule if the electrician produced one
Ask your agent for the exact list. Carriers do not publish a single national checklist.
Electricians who advertise this job
A shop is listed only if it advertises Federal Pacific, Zinsco, or insurance-driven panel replacement on its own site and prints a license number there. Trade-association locators already exist. We will not pad this list. Verify the license before you hire.
To get introduced, use the quote form on this page. We do not send you to the shop from here.
