Development Services issues the electrical permit. NV Energy issues Temporary Disconnect/Reconnect or Upgrade Existing Service before anyone cuts a seal. Those two systems do not match. A helper with a van cannot print that permit or open that utility ticket.
What NV Energy actually wrote
Start with the New Construction Portal guide. Temporary Disconnect/Reconnect is a request for NV Energy to shut off power so someone can perform maintenance or replace equipment with the same type.
Upgrade Existing Service is a request to relocate an existing service or increase its amperage.
Those are not interchangeable tickets. A 100-amp to 200-amp job is not a same-type replacement.
The October 1, 2025 northern residential rate insert prints Standard Complex Disconnection/Reconnection at $275.00 during regular hours. Same-day or after-hours work is printed at $295.00. Super Electric’s Reno-Sparks cost page says NV Energy charges the homeowner $275 to disconnect and reconnect. That contractor note matches the regular-hours line. It is not a homeowner meter-pull path.
Confirm the logo on the bill. Most Reno and Sparks addresses are NV Energy.
NV Energy does not publish a guaranteed power-off hour count. Super Electric describes most Reno-Sparks panel upgrades as one day from start to finish. That is a contractor field note.

Owning the home does not mean you should pull the permit and then hire someone under your name.

Jolt’s Northern Nevada table prints $1,800 to $4,500 for 200-amp work and $4,500 to $10,000+ for 400-amp work. Those two systems do not match. We will not average them. We are not inventing a third Reno midpoint from either table.
Nevada license lookup is public. Ask for the contractors-board number and check it on the NSCB search before you sign. One shop advertises this work on their own site and prints a license number. Super Electric’s Reno-Sparks page names Zinsco and Federal Pacific Electric and prints 0088012. They write daily work across Reno, Sparks, Spanish Springs, and Verdi. They are listed for the panel letter, not as a Washoe County directory.

What to hand the carrier
The useful packet is the closed city or county electrical permit, the passed municipal inspection, an invoice with the license number that was on the permit, and photos if the letter asks. If your electrician produces a load calculation or panel schedule, send that too. We did not find a carrier page that publishes a single statewide sticker form. Ask the agent what they will actually open.
