Your letter names a panel brand. It does not name Pikes Peak Regional Building Department or Colorado Springs Utilities. Those are the two counters that actually close the job.

File the electrical permit at PPRBD. Schedule the disconnect with Colorado Springs Utilities before anyone pulls a meter. A helper with a van cannot print that permit or make that call.

What Colorado Springs Utilities actually wrote

Start with City Code Chapter 12. Unauthorized metering means removing, moving, installing, connecting, reconnecting, or disconnecting an electric meter by anyone other than an authorized Utilities employee.

It shall be unlawful for any person to tamper with a utility meter or other utility equipment without the express written authorization of the Chief Executive Officer.

The Electric Service Standards Book is the field rule. Only authorized Colorado Springs Utilities employees are permitted to connect, disconnect, move, or remove meters. The book tells you to call Customer Service at 448-4800 to schedule those activities. That is not a homeowner meter-pull path.

Confirm the logo on the bill. Most Colorado Springs addresses are Colorado Springs Utilities. Fountain Utilities and Mountain View Electric Association serve some outlying towns.

Colorado Springs Utilities does not publish a guaranteed power-off hour count. Good Light describes several hours off on a one-day install. The Electricians describes four to six hours off on install day. Those are contractor field notes.

Permits inside Colorado Springs and in El Paso County

PPRBD is the counter for Colorado Springs, Fountain, Manitou Springs, Monument, Palmer Lake, unincorporated El Paso County, and Woodland Park. Electrical work needs a permit.

Who pulls the permit matters. A homeowner path exists, and it is narrow. A homeowner may obtain a permit only if that person is performing the work on a primary residence they own and reside in. Colorado license lookup is public. Ask for the EC number and check it on DORA before you sign. Two shops advertise this work on their own sites and print a license number. They are listed for the panel letter, not as an El Paso County directory.

Directory-only shops are omitted. A page that names these brands and does not print a Colorado electrical license number is not a listing. The listed shops are not affiliated with Panel Letter.

What to hand the carrier

The useful packet is the closed PPRBD electrical permit, the passed inspection, an invoice with the EC number that was on the permit, and photos if the letter asks. If your electrician produces a load calculation or panel schedule, send that too. We did not find a carrier page that publishes a single statewide sticker form. Ask the agent what they will actually open.
